Steve Gadd Band

He has performed with Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Barbra Streisand, Paul McCartney, Rickie Lee Jones, Carly Simon, Al Jarreau, James Brown, Joe Cocker, Stanley Clarke, Chick Corea, Al Dimeola, George Benson, Kate Bush, James Taylor... Steve Gadd is undeniably one of the greatest drummers of our time, and one of the most eclectic. Right from the start of the 1970s, he established his hallmark: great technical mastery and his irresistible feeling. To whichever style he turns his hand – pop, rock, jazz, rhythm‘n’blues or fusion – it simply feels right. His groove tracks have become real classics, making him the most emulated drummer throughout the world.

Born in Rochester, Steve Gadd learned the drums from a very young age. At 11, he had the opportunity of playing with Dizzy Gillespie. In 1971, he settled down permanently in New York, where his elegance and remarkable technical skill led him to become one of the most sought-after sidemen. This is how he came record legendary albums such as “Aja” with Steely Dan and several others with Paul Simon (the famous “Fifty Ways to Leave Your Lover” and “Late in the Evening”). Outside of his collaborations, he has recorded five albums, including his latest album “Steve Gadd Band” for which he has just received a Grammy Award “Best contemporary instrumental album”.
