Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals

The author of a hybrid style with hints of blues, folk and rock, Ben Harper has charmed spectators throughout the world armed with his slide guitar - his instrument of choice, his remarkable voice and his texts with pertinent social impact. Discovered in 1994 thanks to his first recording, «Welcome to the Cruel World» - the first of a long series of studio albums including some with «The Innocent Criminals» - he has around fifteen albums to his name, including «Fight for Your Mind» and «Burn to Shine», two of his greatest successes. His unique mixture of blues, folk, soul and rock has enabled him to attract a fan community all over the world.

Harper has won three Grammy Awards, and he has many collaborations under his belt with artists ranging from Radiohead and Marilyn Manson to Charlie Musselwhite, with whom he recorded two blues albums. On the latest of these, «No Mercy in this land» (2018), the two conspire to convoke, reawaken and celebrate a whole period of American musical history. Ben Harper has reinvented the blues, proving himself a real showman, interpreting «jewels of rock‘n’roll with exquisite finesse», magnifying the «power and beauty of simple things», and always with that «relaxed elegance» which makes him one of the few able to place an intimate word within the gigantism of a show.
