Candy Dulfer

It is difficult to describe the (early!) career of alto saxophonist Candy Dulfer without heaping on the superlatives! As the daughter of famous sax tenor Hans Dulfer, the little girl certainly had a role model to follow, but quickly learned to set a course of her own. Her first steps were at the age of seven; then at fourteen, she formed her first group! She certainly wasted no time, especially since this was followed by first distinctions and then the jackpot: 2,5 million copies were sold of her first recording, «Saxuality» which had her nominated for a Grammy Award.
«The alto sweet with an acid taste that is Miss Candy Dulfer» would charm, each in turn, Dave Stewart (Eurythmics), Van Morrison, David Sanborn, Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, George Duke, Blondie, Madonna, Prince… All were full of enthusiasm for this sweet whirlwind with impeccable technicity, making her way through the wide world, from Newport Beach to Tokyo, from Brooklyn to Amsterdam the town of her birth. Her latest album, «Together», is the fruit of her skilled versatility, a contemporary interpretation of what is happening in current music and in the world at large.
