« He who has grown up in the mountains, even if he spends years studying philosophy or natural history and makes a clean break with old beliefs: when he feels the fœhn again […], his heart begins to pound… ». (Hermann Hesse)
Named after an ancestral wind carrying every grain of sand from the Sahara to the mountains of the Alps, the Fœhn trio takes you on a musical journey full of emotions and complicity. Shrouds of fog, clouds rolling against slopes of black granite, suddenly rising madly, the hot air drives one wild, just like the rhythmics both airy and dense.
The ethereal compositions with sharp alterations subtly merge acoustic instruments and electronic sounds… The music by Fœhn Trio - Cyril Billot (double bass/synth bass), Kévin Borqué (drums) et Christophe Waldner (keyboards) – invites the audience from the very first notes to enter into its evocative imagination, oscillating between acoustic and amplification, intimacy and strength. The irruption of strong and meandering rhythmics, enveloped in atmospheric layers upon which the solos flourish like arabesques, is reminiscent of the much missed Swedish group E.S.T. or, more recently, the British members of GoGo Penguin, close to the heart of « Jazz à Juan ». Latest album: « Highlines ».
