Did you know that an asteroid was named after Michel Jonasz: the "27949 Jonasz"? It was discovered by French astronomers in the observatory on Caussols plateau, in the Alpes-Maritimes district. Because they liked his music, they named it as a tribute to the artist. Michel Jonasz creates timeless hits such as La Boîte de jazz, Joueur de blues, La fabuleuse histoire de Mister Swing, Super nana, a succession of musical successes to which we can add his talent as an actor in the fields of theatre, cinema and television, spanning more than five decades. Throughout his career, he has appealed to whole families, to people of all ages and from all walks of life.
With the humour between the lines slightly concealing uncertainties and worries, his heart sometimes heavy and a lump in his throat, Michel Jonasz has a unique approach to life, a magnificent approach in the company of musicians who truly live his music, feeding on blues or rather, like himself, on all forms of blues.
Eight years after his latest studio album, Michel Jonasz is back (at last!) with an album of new hits created with his faithful groove and soul brothers, Manu Katché, Jean-Yves d'Angelo, Jérôme Regard and Hervé Brault, an album with a mysterious and elliptical title in the form of a plea for the planet: La Méouge, le Rhône, la Durance. The planet, its oceans, the sky, the moon, the clouds always inspire this singer who reaches for the stars with his feet firmly on stage, where he excels.
